Following the bombings that happened in Sri Lanka on Easter day, the IG of police and secretary of defence have resigned.
Pujith Jayasundara, the Inspector General of Police, and defence secretary Hemasiri Fernando resigned over the deadly Easter bomb that leftover 300 people.
“The IGP has resigned. He has sent his resignation to the acting defence secretary. I’ll nominate a new IGP soon,” President Maithripala Sirisena told reporters.
The country’s president, Maithripala Sirisena told Sri Lankan media outlets on Friday that;
“I will stamp out Isis from Sri Lanka,” he said. “Our police and security forces are capable of achieving this.”
