Manchester United defender, Antonio Valencia, came out yesterday to say that they have not given up on top four finish as well as the league title. He made this statement following their 5-1 demolishion of Cardiff on Saturday that moved them to within 8 points of top four.
Their next 3 fixture seems relatively easy and one in which they are likely to collect maximum three points in order to mount pressure on the top four.
The Ecuadorian is although yet to feature for their new manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, due to an injury he picked up during their champions clash with Valencia but that didn’t stop him from being optimistic.
What he said:
“Nobody is giving up at all. You know there is half a season left to play so it’s all about working hard, battling and playing well.
”We know we have got the quality within the squad to be able to do that. It is all about being focused and the aim is still to get into those top four places. We also want to go as far as we can in the Champions League – why not get to the final? Why not try to win the two cup competitions we are still involved in?”
