Following the approval of the new N30,000 minimum wage by the Senate, the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has commended the step towards ensuring the improvement in the standard of living of Nigerians.
On Tuesday, the Senate Committee on the new minimum wage presented its report and this led to the approval of the recommendations of the committee.
NLC commended the Senate for passing the minimum wage bill of N30,000. But the group insisted that the battle for the minimum wage was not yet over; until the bill is signed and implemented
NLC also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to fasten the process of assenting the bill. NLC also urged President Buhari led Federal Government to start paying the new minimum wage before the celebration of workers day on the 1st of May 2019.
